Far too many years ago, I graduated from London School of Economics with my degree in Accounting and Finance and went on to complete my training as a Management Accountant. So it’s almost impossible to believe that my career has led me to where I am now, a cognitive behavioural coach and health and wellbeing specialist.

My roles in Finance, led me from industry into Investment Banking and my life was spent working insanely long hours and travelling back and forth between London and New York.

Then in 2003, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Millie. I didn’t realise at the time that my life was about to change completely. Millie was poorly from 2 months old and put a stop to any notions I had about returning to my previous life. I restructured my world with her at the centre. Work fitted around family and not the other way around. It was a huge change and one I am eternally grateful for.

I created a life that allowed me to utilise my skills and expertise whilst maintaining the flexibility I needed to care for my daughter. Although I had set up my own consulting business, I began to spend more and more of my time researching health and wellbeing, in order to understand my daughter’s condition. I qualified in anatomy and physiology and took numerous nutrition course, so that I was equipped to provide her with the best possible diet without triggering her very severe breathing difficulties.

By the age of 8, Millie was too unwell to attend school so I put my career on hold and took some time out to home school her. This was one of the best decisions of my life, as not only did Millie’s interest in learning flourish but her health began to improve on an almost daily basis. We took walks in the forest and trips to museums and galleries to broaden her education and provide a welcome break from reciting times tables! It became clear that Millie was very dramatically affected by electro-magnetic interference and the concentration of people and technology in London was very difficult for to manage.

So just over 4 years ago, we decided to relocate to the North West and live in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, where I was brought up. Almost immediately, there was a noticeable difference in Millie’s health. Her allergic condition was now under control and the pain in her limbs had reduced to a level where she could even do sports. It was remarkable!

The lessons I have learnt through caring for my daughter and researching alternative ways of treating her incredibly sensitive physiology, led me from Chinese medicine to homeopathy, from kinesiology to bio-resonance, all of which have formed the foundations for the Healing Lodge, where we aim to provide a centre for education and empowerment to promote holistic health.
